How pricing works
Omni incurs charges based on three dimensions: the telemetry you send to CloudWatch, the data you retain in CloudWatch, and the analysis you run in Omni.
Ingest
Charged per GB ingested. Logs, metrics, traces, and events from any source - application, infrastructure, or third-party.
Store
Charged per GB-month retained. Logs and spans stored in CloudWatch, with optional Intelligent Tiering across three storage tiers.
Analyze
Charged per GB scanned for logs and traces, and per million samples for PromQL queries. Dashboards and alerts are included.

Tiers apply per payer account, per Region, per month. Centralization: Aggregate telemetry from multiple accounts or Regions into one account for a centralized Omni experience. The first centralized copy is free. Each additional copy is $0.05/GB. Storage and Query charges apply to all copies based on retention.

Storage is charged on compressed bytes. Metrics storage is included in the $0.50/GB ingestion rate. Query allowance is calculated on log and span ingestion only.

Pricing FAQ
Open allCloudWatch Omni uses telemetry you already send to CloudWatch. Your ingestion and storage rates stay the same — they are standard CloudWatch rates. Omni adds a query charge only when you scan logs or traces for more than your included allowance. PromQL queries are charged at standard CloudWatch rates, and agent evaluations are charged at Amazon Bedrock AgentCore rates. Dashboards and Omni Alerts come with Omni at no additional cost, within service quotas.
Omni operates on the same telemetry stored in CloudWatch. You are only charged for CloudWatch storage.

Application-Signals-Bytes
Each month, you can scan up to 5× your total eligible log and span ingestion at zero cost. Scanning beyond the allowance is billed at $0.005 per GB.
Eligible ingestion includes:
All log classes, custom logs, and vended logs count. The allowance is calculated on total combined ingestion per account.
Example: 10 TB of logs and 2 TB of spans in a month yields a 60 TB included query allowance (12 TB × 5). Scanning beyond 60 TB is billed at $0.005/GB.
You can use AWS Cost Explorer — filter by service "AmazonCloudWatch" and group by Usage Type. Look for the usage types listed above (DataProcessing-Bytes, VendedLog-Bytes, Application-Signals-Bytes, and their variants).
All CloudWatch log and span ingestion counts — whether sent via the CloudWatch agent, the SDK, OTLP, or arriving as vended logs from AWS services.
The $1,000 one-time free trial credits apply to OpenTelemetry log ingestion (DataProcessingOtel-Bytes, DataProcessingOtelIA-Bytes, DataProcessingOtelEss-Bytes), OpenTelemetry metrics (CW:OTEL:Bytes), and Application Signals spans (Application-Signals-Bytes). The 5× query allowance is a separate, ongoing benefit that covers logs and spans but not metrics ingestion.
Spans are priced per GB at the rates on the pricing page ($0.35–$0.15/GB, tiered under usage type Application-Signals-Bytes). This is the same per-GB rate as Application Signals.
The existing per-span indexing charge (XRay-Spans-Indexed, per million X-Ray trace summaries) still applies for trace summaries indexed beyond the first 1% free tier. The per-GB price covers ingestion and storage; the per-span charge covers making individual traces searchable by trace ID.
Dashboards execute queries, and those queries count toward scan volume. The 5× included allowance applies first — most customers' dashboard usage stays well within it.
To manage costs, set dashboard auto-refresh intervals to 5 minutes or longer. The refresh interval is configurable per dashboard.

Trial details:
The free trial and the 5× query allowance are independent. The 5× allowance is ongoing.
All existing CloudWatch Logs log classes remain supported. Telemetry in every log class is available for Omni querying, dashboards, and alerts. Log class determines the ingestion rate; the Omni query rate ($0.005/GB scanned) is the same across all log classes.
