What I like most about Workday Financial Management is how easy it is to manage financial data in one place. The main thing I dislike is that some features can feel complicated to set up and navigate, especially for new users. Reporting and customization can also require a learning curve, and certain workflows may take more steps than expected.

Workday Financial Management helps solve problems around manual financial processes, scattered data, and limited visibility into transactions. Having financial information and reporting in one system makes it easier for me to track expenses, manage transactions, access reports, and make decisions faster with more accurate information.

Workday Financial Management has its ability to provide real-time financial data and reporting from a single platform, reducing manual effort and improving decision-making. The Foundation Data Model (FDM) gives rich business context to every transaction, while integrated processes across finance, projects, procurement, and reporting improve efficiency and visibility.

What do you dislike about the product?

One challenge with Workday Financial Management is the learning curve, particularly around the Foundation Data Model (FDM) and the different finance processes and dimensions. For new users, understanding the relationships between organisations, projects, cost centres and reporting structures can take time before they become fully confident using the system.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It solves the challenge of disconnected finance processes and reporting by bringing accounting, planning, procurement, projects, and analytics into a single platform. For me, the biggest benefit is having real-time, reliable data and reporting in one place, which improves visibility, reduces manual effort, and supports faster decision-making across the business.

What do you like best about the product?

What I like best about Workday Financial Management is that it brings financial processes, approvals, expenses, reporting, and related administrative workflows into one centralized platform. From a UI/UX perspective, the interface becomes fairly intuitive once you are familiar with the navigation, and I especially like being able to check transaction details, approval status, and required actions in one place.

The integration between financial information and other Workday workflows is also valuable because it reduces the need to move between separate systems or repeatedly enter the same information. In terms of performance, routine tasks such as submitting requests, following approvals, and accessing reports are generally handled efficiently, which helps keep administrative work organized.

From an ROI and productivity perspective, the biggest benefit for me is the time saved through standardized workflows and better visibility. Being able to see where a request is in the approval process reduces unnecessary emails and follow-up communication. I also appreciate the structured onboarding and support environment, since Workday provides a consistent process that becomes easier to use with experience.

I am also interested in Workday's increasing use of AI and intelligent automation, particularly where it can help simplify repetitive tasks, surface relevant information, or make financial workflows more efficient. Overall, the combination of centralized financial management, workflow automation, reporting, and transparency is what provides the most value for me.

What I dislike most about Workday Financial Management is that the system can sometimes feel complex, especially for users who only use certain financial functions occasionally. Some workflows involve several screens, fields, or approval steps, and it is not always immediately obvious where to find a specific task or report. The search and navigation are useful, but they can take time to learn, and the experience can vary depending on how the organization has configured Workday.

Another challenge is that highly integrated workflows can occasionally make simple tasks feel more complicated than expected. When a process involves several approvals or dependencies, it can be difficult to understand exactly where a delay is occurring. Performance is generally reliable, but some pages or reports can take longer to load when handling more complex information.

I would also like to see more contextual guidance within the interface, clearer explanations of certain financial fields, and simpler navigation for infrequent users. More intelligent suggestions or AI-assisted help within a workflow could also make it easier to complete tasks correctly without needing to search for separate instructions or support documentation.

Workday Financial Management helps solve the problem of having financial requests, approvals, expense information, and reporting spread across different processes or systems. Before using a centralized workflow, it can be difficult to know who is responsible for the next step, whether a request has been approved, or where to find the most current financial information.

With Workday, these activities are brought into a more structured and visible workflow. I can submit or review financial information, follow the status of approvals, and access related records in one place. This reduces the need for repeated emails and manual follow-ups and makes it easier to identify where a process is currently sitting.

The main benefit for me is improved organization and transparency. Routine administrative and financial tasks are easier to track, information is more consistent across workflows, and fewer steps depend on separate spreadsheets or informal communication. This saves time, reduces the risk of missing an approval or action, and makes financial processes easier to manage, especially in an organization with many users and departments.

I love how Workday Financial Management allows me to do live reports and collaborate, making everything so much simpler when it comes to financial tasks. It really saves me a lot of time and eliminates struggles I used to have, especially with my team. I also appreciate the unification of HR and finances, which adds even more value to the platform. The initial setup was pretty simple too.

What do you dislike about the product?

It could be a bit easier to understand for those who aren't tech-savvy. More tutorials might help improve the experience for these users.

Workday Financial Management helps me save a lot of time, eliminates struggles with my team, and simplifies financial tasks with live reports and collaboration.

I like the ease in which all artifacts are linked. I work in the ledgers a lot and I like that I can easily get to the source and journals that I need to review

What do you dislike about the product?

I struggle the most with reporting. It seems to be difficult to get exactly what I need on one report. I often have to cobble together multiple reports to be able to get the details that I need

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Since moving to Workday from SAP, I am able to get information faster and do not have to remember special task names. Now I can quickly move between tasks and access the details that I need

I like Workday Financial Management because it provides a centralized location for all our financial activities and maintains a complete record of financial transactions and supplier details. The accessibility and usability for multiple team members is a big plus. I especially enjoy the increased autonomy it offers, allowing team members to manage the financial aspects of their roles effectively. This results in better visibility of key information and saves time that would have been spent gathering information from multiple parties. The feature that allows team members across different teams to input and communicate on invoice processing is very valuable. It empowers teams to control their budgets by viewing real-time updates on their spending.

What do you dislike about the product?

The tool can be a bit daunting for those who have never used financial or accounting software, especially in its out-of-the-box setup when it includes a lot of unnecessary features and the owner hasn't fully customized it yet, which can take a lot of time. The initial setup wasn't easy, as transitioning to an automated system was quite a shift, and those accustomed to just emailing invoices were particularly slow to adapt to the system.

Workday Financial Management centralizes our financial activities, providing easy access to transaction records and supplier details. It empowers team members to control budgets, increases visibility, and saves time previously spent on gathering information.

What do you like best about the product?

I really like how Workday Financial Management unifies HR and finance, which is super helpful. The cloud-based updates are also a big plus for me, alongside the strong audit trail. I also appreciate the custom-tailored report layouts and features like Workday Prism, which add a lot of value to my workflow.

What do you dislike about the product?

I find the integration challenges with Workday Financial Management somewhat frustrating, especially the slow implementation timelines. Coming from a business tech background, I wish there was an expanded library of connectors and simpler middleware requirements. Right now, there's too much dependency on Workday Studio or Mulesoft, which can be a bit of a hassle. Also, having more API rate limits could significantly enhance the experience.

I like how Workday Financial Management helps companies manage their accounting process and record-keeping. I find the integration capabilities valuable and appreciate the General Ledger feature. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy for my team.

I like the centralized services of Workday Financial Management because everything is connected and in one place. This makes it easy for me to manage various tasks without juggling multiple platforms. The setup was also very easy with low friction, which was a relief and made the transition seamless.

The UI can look a bit more modern, especially compared to some competitors. A more intuitive design overall, with cleaner blocks and buttons and a softer color palette, would be great.

What do you like best about the product?

The UI is very user friendly and easy to navigate. The integration to the other tools were very easy and employee training was seamless. Compared to the tool we used prior to Workday Financial Management, the daily reporting has become easier over time. The performance thus far has been great and conducive to what were wanting and needing. The price point a little bit higher, but worth the ROI. The AI features are adaptive, still not have not utilized that tool much. All in all, financial data, workforce data, and operational data can be analyzed together in real time, helping organizations make faster decisions.

What do you dislike about the product?

To be honest, still getting use to the functionality, but no complaints. I enjoy that the new tool is easy to navigate, used daily, and performance has been upgraded form our prior product.
