What do you like best about the product?

I like that Designcenter Solid Edge allows me to create new plates, clamps, or supports directly on the faces of the target 3D part, and the fixture remains linked to the raw product model. This helps maintain the linkage when transferring design data to process simulator tools, which is something other tools like CATIA or Solidworks often break. It's also far cheaper than CATIA, which was another motivation for switching. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy.

What do you dislike about the product?

Loading heavy files or fixtures of assemblies into Solid Edge doesn't go smoothly. It takes a lot of time, and sometimes it even hangs, which is frustrating. I'm not sure how to improve this; I think the development team can only check.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Designcenter Solid Edge helps integrate file transfers between Solid Edge and process simulation without breaking linkages like other tools, maintaining fixture design continuity.

What do you like best about the product?

The design center promises a definitive UI, that is easy to use and train new people, and the ease of access is the key point we look at, and with respect to usability a good interface

What do you dislike about the product?

I’d say the process can sometimes consume a lot of memory, and at times it gets stuck while a particular task is running. Overall, it does its job well, but there are still a few bottlenecks.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Designcenter Solid Edge solves traditional product development bottlenecks—such as rigid parametric modeling constraints, high prototyping costs, multi-CAD incompatibilities, and fragmented workflows—by providing an integrated, AI-assisted 3D design and simulation ecosystem.

What do you like best about the product?

The best advantage is the ease of editing models. Especially step files. I mean items without a model tree. Solid edge is my go to tool to edit step files and tool models sent by our suppliers.

What do you dislike about the product?

The number of companies using solid edge is very minimal. So, it’s not a handy skill to boast in my resume. And not fit for post design activities like analysis.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Editing and reviewing step files models sent by our suppliers. These files are kinda hard for me to review and edit in other software’s. NX helps, but licenses for NX is always pulled by someone. So, solid edge is my go to tool

What do you like best about the product?

Integration with AI and automatic design features, including a Copilot-style experience where the user can chat.

Magnetic snap assembly that can detect edges and surfaces, then automatically find the correct mates and constraints.

What do you dislike about the product?

The growing push toward token- or value-based licensing and cloud-connected profiles is frustrating for users who prefer perpetual, fully offline licenses without recurring digital check-ins. AI drawing inaccuracies also remain an issue.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

The overload of manual drawing work is reduced through the integration of AI. It can generate the design, although the output is not always up to the mark. It also helps with solving issues by quickly identifying constraints and highlighting gaps in fabrication data.

What do you like best about the product?

easy to use, good interface UI, low cost comparing high end CAD like NX and catia etc. also it can integrated with plm like teamcenter, enovia, etc. medium CAD

What do you dislike about the product?

Since it's medium level CAD tools, so some complicated features comparing to NX and Catia don't exist. Also Solid Edge was purchased from the another company, it's noot originally developed by Siemens, so integration with TC is not perfect

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Solid Edge is a good medium level CAD tool. It can make 3D model 2D sketch, and can be integrated with PLM. So we can have multi users working on the same object same time.

What do you like best about the product?

Designcenter Solid Edge’s integration with other Siemens products, such as DesignCenter NX and Teamcenter, make workflows and task tracking super easy and efficient.

What do you dislike about the product?

Designcenter Solid Edge takes a while to setup and configure. The interface can almost be overwhelming at first until you get your bearings and start fully utilizing it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Designcenter Solid Edge Is helping to solve major design and engineering challenges that occur on a day to day basis. As well as helping solve for future issues.

What do you like best about the product?

Its reliability, ease of use, robustness, and ease of learning, along with a complete file alignment with Designcenter NX that allows for file exchange

What do you dislike about the product?

Perhaps it lacks a broader catalog of possible modular expansions based on existing tokens, which would increase its potential

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Designcenter SolidEdge addresses the day-to-day needs of a technical design office primarily focused on mechanical design where the concept of "shape" is not of a high level

What do you like best about the product?

The Design Center saves a ton of time by giving quick access to standard parts and reusable components right inside the modeling environment, no need to model the same fasteners or brackets over and over. The search and preview tools make finding the right part fast, even in a large library.

What do you dislike about the product?

The search functionality could be more intuitive — sometimes finding the right component means digging through several folders instead of a quick keyword search.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's solving the problem of reinventing the wheel on every design, instead of remodelling common parts and fasteners each time, we pull them straight from the library.

What do you like best about the product?

Designcenter Solid Edge is easy to learn and use, thanks to its clean interface and strong 3D modeling capabilities. It helps me design, modify, and manage complex parts and assemblies more quickly, making the overall workflow faster and more efficient.

What do you dislike about the product?

One downside is that some of the more advanced features can take a while to learn, and certain workflows may involve more steps than I initially expected. Performance can also vary depending on how complex the model is and the computer hardware being used.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Designcenter Solid Edge helps us cut design time and boost engineering efficiency by speeding up 3D modeling, design updates, and assembly development. It also makes it easier to visualize and validate designs early in the process, which helps reduce rework and prevent errors during manufacturing.

What do you like best about the product?

2d sketch making and editing. I mostly use dimensional features and verification of drawing scales. Solid edge is quite handy for trimming chamfering and fillets.

What do you dislike about the product?

The long time Solid Edge takes for opening files. It seems like a long conversion process. It should be seamless like Qcad and some features I have to search, search bar is not that great as it doesn’t really show correct features all time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Solving the search bar will help a lot. Person from different environments can get used to it very quickly and correct tool at correct time makes it more faster.
