What do you like best about the product?

I appreciate the features, such as capturing data based on transaction logs, as well as the ability to take actions on the captured data before integration. Implementation also is based on low-code / no-code approach, you can setup a data pipeline in no time by a simple configuration.

What do you dislike about the product?

The SaaS/Hybrid component isn’t at the same level as HVR when it comes to features.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps us achieve a faster time to market and optimize costs when building pipelines, while also supporting reliable data integration. Maintenance is straightforward, real-time ingestion works well, and it gives us the ability to capture data from heterogeneous sources.

What do you like best about the product?

The UI/UX is friendly, with a great number of data source integrations, and the performance is very smooth. The customer support team is also great in terms of responsiveness. That said, the pricing is a bit on the higher side compared to its competition, and I’m also hoping to see more AI/intelligence features in the future.

What do you dislike about the product?

The costs are high, and it’s difficult to customize the connection to fit our needs. This can be frustrating at times, especially for developers.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has been helping me seamlessly integrate many data sources into our data warehouse, and it requires minimal coding.

What do you like best about the product?

I really like how Fivetran offers out-of-the-box connectors, so I don't have to connect to any APIs or handle any plumbing. It just works out of the box, which saves a lot of effort on building in-house data engineering. The ease of starting and understanding the pipeline status is great, and it works reliably. Fivetran also provides very good support and a UI that I find very user-friendly. I especially value the connections feature as it helps me avoid building any kind of data plumbing in-house. It's a wonderful product for data engineering pipelines.

What do you dislike about the product?

The only issue with Fivetran is the pricing. It's very, very high—almost prohibitive. Right now, it's not affordable, and I feel they should have a better plan to increase affordability. The prices have increased a lot in the last few years, which I don't like, even though it's a wonderful product.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Fivetran saves me from building in-house data engineering with its out-of-the-box connectors. It eliminates the need to connect to APIs or do any data plumbing, making it easy to start and understand, with reliable performance and great support.

Why is one solution that can do a differential sync with SAP.

hybrid mode is a little complex to implement

Allowing pipelines to be formed and keep our centralized data platform up to date with good cadence that fits our business needs.

What do you like best about the product?

I like Fivetran's user interface because it's easy to use, which makes creating new connections straightforward. The support emails are helpful, especially when there are updates to the ERD tables. They notify us about new data, like a new table for Shopify, which is great to know so we can use the available data effectively.

What do you dislike about the product?

I find it frustrating that some connections keep breaking, specifically my Instagram connectors which break once every two weeks. This leads to losing historical data that isn't saved. If I don't fix it in time, it results in a lot of blank data for the days when the connector was broken. It would be helpful if Fivetran had an option to save some data, especially the tables where we can only save the last 30 days worth of data, and hard save it. Then when connectors break and come back online, they can just keep adding to the existing table.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Fivetran automates daily data extraction, saving time and effort. It simplifies creating and managing connections, and its UI is easy to use. Regular email updates on ERD changes help us stay informed about new data, enhancing our data integration process.

This should provide in-house transformation along with dbt.

What do you like best about the product?

I use Fivetran as an integration tool at my tech consulting firm and I'm a fan of its fast implementation processes. I like the product's ability to detect schema changes with minimal extra work, which is crucial when dealing with large amounts of data. The implementation of pipelines in Fivetran feels faster compared to other competitors. I also value the monitoring and alerting features because with multiple pipelines in place, it's important to audit which tables are being loaded or failed. The initial setup was very easy, and training employees new to Fivetran was much faster than with ADF. Overall, I rate Fivetran a 10 out of 10 for recommending to a friend or colleague.

What do you dislike about the product?

I'd say additional capabilities to manage data quality issues within Fivetran. Things such as anomaly detection and duplicate detection are lacking. I feel like there isn't a tool to truly look into sudden drops or spikes in row count. Also, I don't see anything for automatic duplication for pipeline activities.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Fivetran solves creating quality incremental pipelines and simplifies schema change detection. Its ease of implementation and reliable monitoring boost my team's productivity by reducing manual efforts in identifying data issues in our massive datasets.

What do you like best about the product?

It's simplicity and ease of use combined with its strong connector and destination db support it makes it really easy to click and go. The free trial period lets you figure out if the connector is worth the price and the estimated mars before going live. Most data extracts are super performant and if there is a schema change the way it easily handles it is a boon. If there's a failure you can rest assured that the support team will handle it for you especially if it has been running successfully and it got impacted due to a change in the source system.

What do you dislike about the product?

Having data transformations, custom SCD builds, data masking etc as part of the initial setup of the connection as optional steps would be great

Helps unifying all our source data into our warehouse with ease

The platform is easy to use, and the leadership is supportive.

Requesting new connectors, or asking to add new endpoints to existing connectors, took a long time.
