What I like best about Contentful is its flexibility in managing structured content and reusable image assets in one centralized platform. Images can be linked to different content entries and reused across multiple pages, which reduces duplication and helps maintain consistency.

What do you dislike about the product?

Contentful has a learning curve, especially when setting up content models, references, and advanced workflows. From an image-management perspective, capabilities such as resizing, cropping, focal points, and format optimization often require API parameters or frontend configuration, which can be challenging for nontechnical editors. Asset search and organization could also be more intuitive when managing a large image library, with stronger filtering, tagging, duplicate detection, and built-in editing tools.

Contentful solves the challenge of managing structured content and image assets across multiple pages and digital channels. It provides a centralized place where our content team can update, reuse, and publish content without depending on developers for every change.

For image management, we can reuse the same approved assets and deliver optimized versions for different devices and screen sizes, reducing duplication and manual effort. Its API-first approach also integrates well with modern web applications, helping us publish faster, maintain consistency, improve collaboration between content editors and developers, and scale content efficiently.

What do you like best about the product?

What I like most about Contentful is its flexibility as a headless CMS. It makes it easy for teams to create, manage, and reuse content across multiple digital channels without tightly coupling that content to a specific frontend. I also appreciate its structured content model, APIs, and collaboration features, which help maintain content consistency and make it simpler for business and technical teams to work together.

Contentful provides business value by helping organizations manage content centrally and deliver it consistently across websites, applications, and other digital channels. Its headless and API-first approach gives teams greater flexibility to launch and update digital experiences without being dependent on a single frontend platform. What do you like best about the product?

Content models (text, media, metadata, relationships) are structured using JSON. A single piece of content can simultaneously feed a website, mobile app, smart watch, or digital kiosk without duplicate effort.

What do you dislike about the product?

Teams often hit a sharp cost barrier when outgrowing lower-tier plans. Hitting specific content model limits (e.g., 50 content types) or user limits can force a jump from hundreds of dollars a month directly to expensive enterprise contracts.

Monolithic platforms force developers and marketers to wait on each other—marketers need developers to push page updates, while developers are hindered by rigid CMS templates. By decoupling the frontend from the backend (headless architecture), developers can use modern frameworks (e.g., Next.js, Nuxt) while marketers manage content independently.

What do you like best about the product?

I really like the headless capabilities, or the headless architecture, and the ease of implementation.

What do you dislike about the product?

While it's very flexible and makes things easier, that flexibility can create complexity. If it's not well-structured, it can cause long-term problems.

Because of this, there's a learning curve to figure out best practices.
