You pay by the hour for a hardened Fedora 41 machine image. Pricing is set per Amazon EC2 instance type, so each dimension maps to one instance size. Software cost is billed only while an instance runs, on top of the separate AWS infrastructure charge. Rates scale with the compute, memory, storage, or accelerator profile of the instance you choose. Smaller general-purpose types like t and m families cost less per hour, while larger compute (c), memory (r, x, u), storage (i, d), and GPU or accelerator (g, p, inf, trn) types cost more.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually receive when I launch one of these hourly instances?
You get a hardened Fedora 41 machine image running on the Amazon EC2 instance type you select. That instance size sets the vCPUs, memory, storage, and any accelerators. The hourly rate you see maps to that one instance type, and the image comes pre-configured for security.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped?
The software fee meters only while an instance runs. A stopped or powered-off instance accrues no hourly software charge. Restarting resumes billing at that instance type's rate. Note that AWS may still bill separate storage fees for attached volumes while the instance is stopped.
Does the hourly charge include AWS infrastructure, or is that billed separately?
The rate shown is the software charge for the hardened Fedora 41 image only. AWS bills its underlying compute, storage, and data-transfer fees separately for the instance type you run. Your total cost combines both: the per-hour software fee plus the AWS infrastructure charge for that instance.
