Larger compute, memory, storage, GPU, and accelerator instances cost more per hour. You select the instance that fits your workload and pay only for the hours you run. No upfront commitment or fixed term applies.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one running Amazon EC2 instance of the type you select. You are billed per hour of run time for the software on that single virtual machine. The rate matches the instance family and size you launch. Running two instances bills two separate hourly charges.
The software charge meters running hours only. When you stop the instance, the hourly software fee stops accruing. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are billed by AWS, not by this software listing.
Each dimension maps to a specific instance type, so your rate changes when you switch instances. Moving to a larger compute, memory, GPU, or accelerator instance raises the hourly rate. The change is not automatic. You choose and launch the new instance type yourself.

Windows includes an RDP client by default. To verify, type mstsc at a Command Prompt window. For Mac OS X Download the Microsoft Remote Desktop app from the Mac App Store For Linux Use Remmina.
To connect to a Windows instance, you must retrieve the initial administrator password and then enter this password when you connect to your instance using Remote Desktop. It takes a few minutes after instance launch before this password is available.
